Leah Starr Hamilton, DVM is a 1992 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a general Equine practitioner who developed her own private practice and was a solo practitioner for 10 years. In December, 2002 she became a partner in Rockwall Equine Center (a regional referral center) as a general medicine and reproductive medicine specialist. She and her husband,  Mike Hamilton, moved to Tularosa in February 2006 to build Tularosa Equine Clinic from the ground up. They have been married since 1994 and have two children, Christopher and Kaitlyn. She has extensive practice management and computer technology skills and left a very devoted clientele.

Megan Tracy Petty, DVM is a 2013 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science in 2009 also from Texas A&M. (Gig ‘Em!)

Dr. Petty has spent her life in the horse industry, specifically the racehorse breeding side, growing up on a prominent Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse farm in Texas. She has also competed at various breed and open shows in both the western and english disciplines throughout her life. Professionally, Dr. Petty enjoys reproductive medicine, internal medicine, and racehorses, but truly loves all areas of general equine practice. She is an active member of the AVMA, AAEP, AQHA, Texas Thoroughbred Association, and New Mexico Horse Breeders Association.

Dr. Petty and her husband Bryan own and operate their own racehorse breeding farm, the newly founded Creekside Farm outside of Tularosa. In their “free time” Megan and Bryan also enjoy fishing, watching horse racing, and spending time with their “kids” Maverick and Ray (a black Lab and Yorkie).
